Webinar “Innovative methods of applying modern automated translation technologies”

30 жовтня 2025 року на базі Донецького національного університету імені Василя Стуса відбувся успішний інформативно-практичний вебінар, присвячений інтеграції автоматизованих перекладацьких технологій в освітній процес та професійну діяльність. Захід був організований командою ДонНУ імені Василя Стуса у межах освітнього проєкту Erasmus+ DigiFLEd.

Вебінар викликав значний інтерес у професійної спільноти. Участь взяли 185 осіб – це представники 22 закладів вищої освіти та коледжів із 12 областей України.

Аудиторія була максимально різноманітною та зацікавленою в цифровій трансформації: серед зареєстрованих були викладачі, студенти, бібліотекарі, тьютори та інші освітні фахівці.

Спікери – Олеся Бойван (к. пед. н., доцент, завідувач кафедри теорії і практики перекладу) та Оксана Воробйова (к. філол. н., доцент кафедри теорії і практики перекладу) – представили теоретичні знання та практичні напрацювання щодо ефективного застосування САТ-інструментів (CAT-tools):

• Була продемонстрована необхідність використання сучасних систем автоматизованого перекладу, таких як Trados Studio, які дозволяють значно скоротити часові витрати на переклад та підвищити якість кінцевого продукту завдяки автоматизації рутинних процесів.

• САТ-інструменти розглядаються як засоби підвищення продуктивності та зниження когнітивного навантаження. При цьому наголошувалося, що ключове рішення та забезпечення якості завжди залишається за фахівцем, підкреслюючи його провідну роль у процесі.

• Здобувачі вищої освіти, які вже опановують курс TRANSLATION TECHNOLOGIES, підготували практичний блок, продемонструвавши навички роботи з Trados Studio. Це підтвердило актуальність та необхідність таких практично-орієнтованих курсів для підготовки майбутніх фахівців.

Системи автоматизованого перекладу (CAT) є потужним ресурсом, що надає перекладачеві змогу економити час, підвищувати якість та оптимізувати вартість перекладацької діяльності для кінцевого споживача.

Команда Донецького національного університету імені Василя Стуса висловлює щиру подяку всім учасникам за активну участь та проявлену зацікавленість у розвитку цифрових перекладацьких компетенцій!

On October 30, 2025, a successful informative and practical webinar was held at the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, dedicated to the integration of automated translation technologies into the educational process and professional activities. The event was organized by the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University team within the framework of the Erasmus+ DigiFLEd educational project.

The webinar aroused considerable interest in the professional community. 185 people participated – representatives of 22 higher education institutions and colleges from 12 regions of Ukraine.

The audience was as diverse as possible and interested in digital transformation: among those registered were teachers, students, librarians, tutors and other educational specialists.

Speakers – Olesya Boivan (Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice) and Oksana Vorobyova (Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice) – presented theoretical knowledge and practical experience on the effective use of CAT-tools:

• The need to use modern computer-aided translation systems, such as Trados Studio, was demonstrated, which allow significantly reducing the time spent on translation and improving the quality of the final product by automating routine processes.

• CAT-tools are considered as a means of increasing productivity and reducing cognitive load. It was emphasized that the key decision and quality assurance always remains with the specialist, emphasizing his leading role in the process.

• Higher education students who are already mastering the TRANSLATION TECHNOLOGIES course prepared a practical block, demonstrating their skills in working with Trados Studio. This confirmed the relevance and necessity of such practically-oriented courses for training future specialists.

Computer-aided translation (CAT) systems are a powerful resource that allows the translator to save time, improve quality and optimize the cost of translation activities for the end user.
