Results of DigiFLEd Study Visit 24.06 – 28.06.2024 (Kastoria, Greece)

The team from Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, consisting of project manager Olga Odintsova and project participant Olesia Boivan, underwent training for DigiFLED project participants at the University of Western Macedonia (Kastoria, Greece) from June 24 to 28, 2024.

The study visit program was aimed at developing key competencies in the field of digital educational content development and intended to familiarize participants with modern digital educational technologies.

On June 24 (Monday), team representatives attended an introductory lecture by Professor Domna Mitchell from the Department of Communications and Digital Media, mastered basic strategies for developing interactive digital content “Multimedia Content Creation for Education and Theories and Principles of Multimedia Learning,” Digital Storytelling, Digital Games and Interactive Activities, and took an introductory city tour using digital applications.

On June 25 (Tuesday), Olga Odintsova and Olesia Boivan acquired practical skills in developing educational courses using H5P, mastered principles of working with Virtual and Augmented Reality, and also visited the Environmental Education Center of Kastoria.

The third day of the visit, June 26 (Wednesday), was dedicated to familiarizing with the university’s Virtual and Augmented Reality Visit Immersive Lab laboratories. After this, lecturers Maria Matsola and Michalis Vrigkas presented project participants with ways to create Digital storytelling-Creative Narrations.

The next day of the visit, June 27 (Thursday), proved to be extremely intensive. Project participants visited the Byzantine and Archaeological Museum and The Open-Air Museum of Dispilio, where specialists from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki continue to work. The visits were accompanied by lectures from local researchers using digital applications developed by University of Western Macedonia faculty.

On June 28 (Friday), lecturer Krisa Markou in her presentation highlighted the main aspects of using artificial intelligence in the educational process (AI tools in Education).

The DigiFLEd project team from Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University gained extremely valuable experience in the field of digital educational resources and multimedia creation.
