Project Kick-off Meeting
From January 30 to February 2, 2024, the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project “Modernization of University Foreign Language Educational Programs Based on Integration with Information Technologies” (DigiFLEd) took place at the University of Tampere (Finland). The project team from Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University participated in discussions about the project’s goals and objectives, planned activities, and expected results. Meeting participants had the opportunity to attend lectures and master classes by University of Tampere faculty: “Digitalization in Foreign Language Teaching: Trends, Challenges and Best Practices,” “Post-editing Strategies for Academic Writing,” and “Teaching Translation Strategies and Techniques.”
The meeting was held in a hybrid format.
Project partners include: University of Tampere, Finland; Maynooth University, Ireland; University of Western Macedonia, Greece; V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine (national coordinator); and other Ukrainian higher education institutions.
Start of Equipment Procurement
DigiFLEd is expanding cooperation with state institutions and beginning the planned procurement of new equipment within the project framework through international technical assistance.
This equipment will significantly improve the technical capabilities of 7 Ukrainian higher education institutions and enhance the quality of foreign language teaching using information and communication technologies in both online and offline formats.
Start of teacher training sessions developed by EU partners for creating content in a digital context
At the end of October 2024, an online training series for course developers based on innovative IT technologies will be launched.
DONNU Quality Board Meeting
On January 17, 2025, a Quality Board Meeting of the DigiFled project was held, chaired by the working group leader Zahnitko A.P. During the meeting, project participants discussed a number of key issues: the status and stages of developing mandatory online courses: Digital Games & Gamification in FL Teaching, Translation Technology, and Digital Applications in Language and Literature Studies; participation of project implementers and faculty members from the Faculty of Foreign and Slavic Philology in training sessions provided by foreign partners. The team members also discussed the procurement of educational equipment and outlined further steps for establishing the DigiFled digital laboratory.
