Development of Moodle course “Ukrainian Language and Culture” within the DigiFLEd project
Within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ K2 international project “Modernization of University Foreign Language Educational Programs through Information Technology Integration DigiFLEd” (№101128713- DigiFLEd-ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE), work is actively underway on creating a Moodle course “Ukrainian Language and Culture” for foreign students. The project team, led by Professor Lyudmyla Koval, is developing interactive educational content that will facilitate effective acquisition of the Ukrainian language and familiarization with cultural features. The course will include modern teaching methods, integration of digital applications Canva, Heygen, Cartonife.de, Beautiful.ai, Vidnoz, Nedra, and the use of multimedia elements to create a dynamic educational environment.
Special attention is given to the course structure and approaches to material presentation:
• visual and textual modules are being developed, adapted to students’ language proficiency level,
• character-heroes are being introduced to help gain deeper understanding of Ukrainian culture,
• a didactic base is being formed that takes into account the specifics of distance learning.
Through inter-university cooperation, the project unites representatives of leading Ukrainian higher education institutions who work together on course content, development of educational materials, and improvement of methodological solutions.
Work on the course continues! Its finalization and implementation will become an important step in the development of digital education and popularization of the Ukrainian language among foreign students.
